East Algarve - the undiscovered Algarve

East Algarve - the undiscovered Algarve East Algarve is the undiscovered part of the Algarve region of Portugal. The region is as good as its western counterpart. Here is a guide to this still undiscovered region. The four different geophysical zones The area of East Algarve is made up of four different geophysical zones. The first is the Guadiana River on its Eastern end near the border with Spain. Then there is the coastal part made up of long sandy beaches as well as the wetlands of Ria Formosa. The third is coastal plain made up of agricultural land full of citrus orchards. Last and the fourth geophysical zone is made of the hills. The climate in East Algarve The Eastern region of Algarve enjoys a mild and sunny climate in Europe. It provides a really good weather during all the four seasons. There isn’t exactly a winter in this region. The summer is hot and dry in East Algarve. It is followed by extended spring. The temperature remains the lowest from the months of November to February. However, within these four months the daytime temperature can reach up to 20º centigrade to make an enjoyable sunbath possible. The spring season witnesses a rise in temperature and a lesser amount of rainfall through the months from March to May. The flowers become more beautiful in this season and the rivers and streams start flowing even more freely. The summer starts from the middle of May and ends in mid September. The weather is really hot and is dry throughout. The middle part of summer months is full of greenery due to some all season trees. For the citrus plants in this region the climate is much like the winters in most other parts of Europe. The right time to visit East Algarve The winter is really the cheapest time of the year and the tourists are less in numbers. However, it can easily rain for an entire week. The temperatures can be really mild but the water is too cold for swimming. You can still indulge a lot of cultural activities. The climate is just right for walks, bird watching and golf. During the spring there is a good amount of sunshine. The countryside is really beautiful at this time of the year. It is the right time to visit the hills. Also the wild flowers are a sight to behold. Like the winters, the time is right for cultural activities. The summers are the best time for guaranteed sunshine and the water is warm enough for a good swim. Nights are also really warm. Summers can be really hot sometimes and is really the costliest time as far as visiting East Algarve is concerned. Places like restaurants, shops and beaches are all full. The summers can be spent sitting by the poolside or the beaches. Also it is a good time for swimming in the ocean. The time is right to enjoy a lot of drinks and a nice stay in the shade.
