A Good Change of Pace

When looking to take a vacation or holiday, most people tend to stick with the classic vacation spots. Whether it's a cruise, road trip, a stay at a hotel, or even a time share, it's always the same. Not that there's anything wrong with going to Florida, California, or the Bahamas. They are all great vacation spots. However, from time to time, we need variety. We need the kind of variety that feels fresh and exciting. The kind of variety that can be found at the Algarve. This beautiful region of Portugal is sure to not only leave you feeling refreshed, but it will take your breath away in the process. The truth of the matter is that this southern region of Portugal is catered to just about anyone. For starters, there is the beautiful weather and scenery. I mean, who doesn't make that one of their requirements for the perfect getaway? With a combination of beautiful beaches, gorgeous mountains, warm weather, a blazing sun, and a wide range of islands and islets, there's no doubt that the Algarve can relieve all that built up stress that we all need to be rid of. But let's not forget the Ria Formosa lagoon. Not only is this nature reserve absolutely beautiful, but here you can observe hundreds of birds that use it for their stopping ground. Over the years, southern Portugal has become the prime vacation spot for many Europeans of all shapes and sizes. While it used to be primarily a British hot spot, it has since become very popular among many Irish, Dutch, and German citizens as well. This makes the Algarve an even better place to visit. Not only can you take in it's gorgeous scenery, but you have the opportunity to meet and interact with a wide range of individuals of different cultures. One of the best features to this vacation spot is it's affordability. Many people who frequent the Algarve do so because it is very safe for their families and can be very low cost. Whether you're looking for a high class resort or a nice guest home located in one of the many local towns or villages, you can do so in a way that fits your budget. So where as many people will ask what makes this south region so special, you'll find more trouble answering a different question: What is it about this place that isn't so special?
